MALAYSIAN JOURNAL OF MICROBIOLOGY

The Malaysian Journal of Microbiology (MJM) is an open access peer-reviewed journal published in association with the Malaysian Society for Microbiology. It serves as a forum for scientific communication among scientists and academics who deal with microbes and microbial products. The journal publishes research articles, short communications and review articles on various novel aspects of microbiology. The medium of communication is English and the number of publication has increased to six times a year starting 2019. All submission will undergo rigorous single-blind peer-review evaluation process before a final decision.

Starting From April 2011

All the articles published in MJM are deposited in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and the Malaysian Abstracting and Indexing System (MyAIS). The MJM is indexed in Scopus starting from October 2011. Beginning November 2015, MJM is also indexed in the Clarivate Analytics Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI).

MJM will keep sourcing for more indexing systems for easier access of all the articles published in MJM.

This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) definition of open access.

AIMS AND SCOPE

The Malaysian Journal of Microbiology (MJM) publishes basic microbiology research mainly related to the tropics and developing countries. In addition, the journal also publishes research works on the application of microbes for the betterment of human society and the environment. The journal welcomes papers on isolation, identification, characterization and application of microbes and microbial products.

The MJM is published in association with the Malaysian Society for Microbiology. It serves as a forum for scientific communication among scientists and academics who deal with microbes and microbial products.

The journal publishes research articles, short communications and review articles on various novel aspects of microbiology, which include topics related to food, agricultural, industry, plant pathology, biotechnology, microbial genetics, environment, soil, water and biodeterioration. The journal aspires to emphasize the important roles played by microbes in our daily life.
